Family and fruit business
The fruit business is a business the Bouman family simply inherited; it is present in their genes! In the early 20's, grandfather Gerhardus would head to the fruit market with his dog-cart. Soon thereafter, he was the owner of a fruit wholesale; which he managed from his house. Son Henk expanded the family business by relocating it at the so called 'Wild West' market in Barendrecht in 1986. Henk was one of the first pioneers who traveled around the world to make big business!
As formerly mentioned, (grand)sons René and Peter Bouman inherited a talent for doing business. From the early 90's on they have gained lots of experience and contacts in the Fruit and Vegetable sector. They fully complement each other in their daily activities and their close brother bond is the base for FMI's success.
